The Lego Movie, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is a 3D animation movie based on the world of Legos, if they were brought to life. With the lead voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferell, and Elizabeth Banks, this movie brings about an adventurous journey of an ordinary construction worker who gets into trouble after a prophecy announces him to be the saviour of the Lego world. Phil Lord’s film showcases heart-warming messages of love, friendship, and relationships, along with some clean humor.
The movie starts with a Lego wizard named Vitruvius, who fails to stop the deadly weapon, the Kragle, that’s under the control of the villain, Lord Business. He announces that there is only one person named The Special who is destined to stop the Kragle and save Lego world from destruction. After several years pass, Emmet Brickowski, who is a normal Lego guy with no extraordinary creativity or wisdom, notices a woman named Wyldstyle searching for something on the construction site that he works in. Out of curiosity, Emmet follows her and comes across the Piece of Resistance.
Unable to resist, he touches the Piece of Resistance and immediately has weird visions, soon after which he loses his consciousness. Emmet wakes up at the palace of Lord Business and comes to know about his evil plan of freezing the world with the Kragle. The wizard Vitruvius considers Emmet to be the man of their liberation, The Special, and calls on him. But when they meet him, nobody sees any extraordinary wisdom or creativity in Emmet. However, they have no choice but to trust the prophecy. Now Emmet is stuck in a place where everyone considers him to be exceptional, while he is actually hopelessly ignorant about everything. How will he stop Lord Business before he puts his evil plan into action?
The Lego Movie was released by Warner Bros in 2014 in Blu-ray format, with a U rating. The movie has a run time of 100 minutes.
